I grew up loving the outdoors, spent many hours in the countryside, making dens and exploring, it was so much fun. Really enjoyed the simple pleasures found in nature’s playground. Also recall in my earlier childhood days playing shops, that’s the moment l thought I would love to do this when l grow up. Little did l know early 2019, an opportunity arose for my dream to come true. After a whole bottle of wine combined with a heart to heart conversation with my fiancé, l decided to take the plunge and make my childhood dream come true.

My previous experience was Legal PA in the Defence world, never had any retail experience. From a mixture of my previous attributes, instincts and personal love of interior and colours, the whole combination has helped me as an independent shopkeeper. Its truly been one massive learning curve, one l have thoroughly taken on with so much faith that the role has given me so much happiness and peace, l enjoy every single day. My childhood dream would not have been possible without the incredible support of my family and friends, especially my supportive fiancé and I am so massively thankful.

It’s been one amazing journey so far exploring gifts which have been sourced locally in Wales and in the U.K. by small independent businesses (must add by brilliant talented artists) to one or two larger companies across the world. As my shoplife grows, l have noticed and feel my simple childhood pleasures have been up rooted, exposed and reflected in my shop.

As l love interacting with people, ensuring they have a good service, l offer assistance in helping them choose the right card or gift. It’s important to me that my customers enjoy the shop experience. So rewarding when you know they are happy, plus knowing the recipient will have a smile on their face upon receipt. I am exceptionally thankful to my customers that have brought gifts for their loved ones, friends or even for themselves. Now it’s time to immerse myself back into the shop and start faffing about with the displays – happy days.
